Exactly 10 years ago, The Used’s “In Love & Death” was released into stores back when stores were real. This was the first major commercial job that I had worked on at that point and over the course of those 6 months, I learned more than Bill & Ted learned over the course of two films and hundreds of years of time travel. Quinn hunted me down and flew me to LA while they were in the middle of recording the album and we all hit it off instantly. Jeph, Bert, Branden and Quinn took me in like a hungry little art puppy and fed me ideas until I was so full that I had no choice but to vomit out drawings after drawings. Using the songs and their experiences as inspiration, together we created almost 20 different album covers and concepts (some made it to the inside booklet), and moments before the very last meeting with the label I had one last idea that I felt encompassed the whole album and the whole band at that time since I had been spending so much time with them. This is what came out of those last few minutes, and it’s one of the pieces of artwork that I am extremely proud of. We continued to work together side by side for 5 straight years following this album release and I continue to be proud of Quinn, Jeph, Bert, Branden and Dan to this day. Thank you @theused . Love you dudes.
